Stage one of the Dodge Hearse restoration has been completed. The roof was removed, roof boards restored and refitted, and the outside of the roof laminated with veneer. New mouldings to the outside edge of the roof have been made up and fitted. New Coffin Boards have been fitted to the rear compartment, and all the varnish work inside the car has been stripped and recoated. The steel body panels have been refastened to the timber framework. The rear body timber sub-frame had been quite badly damaged when a rear spring mounting bolt broke many years ago, the damage has been repaired and the sub-frame on both sides of the car has been reinforced with steel plates. The car has been despatched for mechanical work and painting. When this has been completed we expect the vehicle back for upholstery and final assembly.

With our contacts we can provide a roll-in drive-out restoration package.

The coach work fitted to 40 SC was designed and built by us, after Ivan Evenden's design for the coach work fitted to 10 EX the first prototype Phantom 1. The original body fitted to 10 EX was altered early in the car's life, and as far as we know no photographs of it have survived.

The coach work was constructed from Queensland Kauri, North American Ash, Queensland Maple, and Cedar. The mud guards are constructed using timber.
